National Account Manager
Hal has been involved in this industry for 35+ years and has a large breadth of knowledge. Hal founded the original company, Marketing Group South, after realizing a need that would benefit both the vendors and the customers. He has been a pivotal leader in the Manufacturer's Rep world, always pushing the envelope to be the best! He has worked with countless factories and customers over his career.
National Account Manager
Sam has been a part of our SGS family since 2003 after finishing out his football career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has gradually worked his way into his position, earning the trust and respect of sales managers, employees, and customers. He has been instrumental in securing several of our largest partner relationships.
Bennett joined our force soon after graduating from the University of Alabama in 2017. He currently calls on accounts in the Florida region as well as several other accounts scattered across the Southeast. In addition to his sales efforts, Bennett has expanded his skill sets into media, technology, and visual marketing, accomodating an increasingly important role in sales and customer communication.
Buddy is located in North Carolina and handles our accounts in that territory. He has been in the hardware industry for the bulk of his career and has a large knowledge base of many of our vendors.
Trade Show Coordinator
Candice was hired in 2014 to take over the trade coordination efforts for our largest customer. In addition to trade show coordination, Candice also creates publications for the trade shows and assists in social media and visual media.
Cliff began his career in the representative business in 1992 calling on House Hasson and Wallace Hardware. He has recently moved from Atlanta to Laurel, MS. Over the years, Cliff has handled many different factories, as well as working trade shows and store resets.
Chris began working with SGS as a side gig working Orgill shows until he was hired on full time in 2020. Chris's primary role at SGS, in addition to continuing working trade shows, is store sets. You will see his face out and about completing store sets.
Connie has been an integral part of company ever since it was founded, being the wife of Hal. She has always managed the accounting side of the company going back to the very beginning of Marketing Group South.
Damone comes to SGS after many years in the hardware industry. He began selling building materials and contractor supplies before transitioning into the Manufacturer's Rep business . After taking a brief hiatus from the hardware industry, Damone was referred to us to cover the Texas and Southwest territories.
Gary began his career in the manufacturing side of the business in the sales department for Murray Ohio Mfg Co. He then transitioned over into the Manufacturer's Representative side of the business, becoming a partner with that firm, before ultimately buying the agency and renaming it BMA, Inc. In 2009, BMA joined forces with SGS to become a leading agency in our industry. Gary handles several categories at Orgill Inc. and Ace Hardware, as well as assisting at other customer trade shows.
Leigh has literally grown up in this industry being the daughter to Hal Kirby. She has had her hands in almost every aspect of the business, from her beginnings as the travel coordinator for set teams across the country, to trade show coordinator, and now her main focus is the human resources side of the company as well as assisting the comptroller.
Customer Service Manager
Maria has been our main customer service manager since her start with SGS in 2004. She handles anything from order entry to order tracking, pricing issues, and questions in general.
Pam came to SGS with an extensive knowledge base of our industry. She began in the rep business in 1994 and became a valuable member of our team in 2010. She keeps our Tennessee office running smoothly as well as handling customer services duties and trade show coordination.
Randy has spent almost 50 years of his life in this industry, beginning with Moore Handley as a Buyer back in 1972. He then moved into the Manufacturer's side of the industry as Account Manager before landing in the Manufacturers Rep side in 1998. Randy joined the SGS family in 2006. He handles several accounts as well as assisting with inside sales and trade shows.
Robert came to SGS through his 30+ years in the Merchandise Department for Moore Handley. His focus was in Electrical, Plumbing, Building Materials, and Lawn & Garden. He was also a pivotal player in the start up of Moore Handley's private label, Hardware House. Robert has a vast knowledge of all sides of the industry and is always our "go-to" guy for anything!
Scott began his career in this industry in 1999 as a Buyer for Moore-Handley. He then branched out into the sales representative side of the industry in 2001 and has remained on this side focusing on Plumbing, Paint, Building Materials, and Power Equipment.
Wayne found his way to SGS in 2010 after working for another rep group. His expertise is in service calls to dealers and store sets, but has recently taken over several accounts for SGS.
Wyatt was hired in 2019 to assist in store sets and trade shows. He had been working for SGS on a part time basis working trade shows until we hired him full time as a set crew member.
